Meet Tom
For the past 24 years, I’ve helped buyers and sellers navigate the real estate market throughout Portland, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Forest Grove, Lake Oswego, Tigard, and the surrounding communities. As an Oregon native who was born and raised here, I bring deep local knowledge, market expertise, and a genuine understanding of the neighborhoods I serve. My approach is simple: I work at my clients’ pace, helping them achieve their goals with clear guidance, honest advice, and a focus on what matters most to them.
Before beginning my real estate career, I owned and operated two restaurants. Prior to that, I spent five summers working as a deckhand on a fishing boat in Alaska while putting myself through college. Those experiences taught me the value of hard work, perseverance, and problem-solving—qualities that continue to shape the way I serve my clients today. Whether I’m helping a first-time buyer purchase a home, assisting a family through a major life transition, or guiding a seller through a successful sale, I enjoy finding solutions that make the process feel manageable and rewarding.
I joined John L. Scott because of its professionalism and strong neighborhood presence, and I’m proud to combine that support with my experience as a Chairmans Circle Award recipient, Certified Buyer Specialist, and Seller Marketing Specialist. When it comes to selling homes, I believe success starts with pricing a property correctly from day one and leveraging powerful marketing tools to maximize exposure and results.
Outside of real estate, I’m committed to giving back to the community. As a board member of the Lions Club, I help support programs focused on sight and hearing, including vision screenings in local schools. I also serve as race director for our annual 10K charity run, which raises money to support vision care initiatives. When I’m not working with clients or volunteering, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, running, fishing, and gardening. What inspires me most is helping people achieve their goals and making a positive impact along the way.
Forest Grove
Forest Grove, Oregon is a popular commuter town 25 miles west of Portland in the Tualatin Valley area of the Willamette Valley. The town was originally a small farming town and was the first city in Washington County when it was incorporated in 1872. Forest Grove is the best of both the big city and the small town. It has a quaint village feel, especially when you're hanging out in the historic downtown, but close enough to Portland to easily enjoy all the city has to offer. With over 357 acres of parkland including a BMX park, a baseball field, a skate park, and tennis courts. And since Forest Grove is in Oregon Wine Country, there are of course plenty of local wineries to enjoy. This quiet town has 10 local schools with exceptional ratings serving around 6,000 Forest Grove children. And for those pursuing higher education, Pacific University next to historic downtown is a well-regarded liberal arts school with strong professional health programs. Most homes in Forest Grove are single-family homes with two and three bedrooms, though both small and large apartment buildings are also available.
